Guest Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Hi Guys Have you come across this before? Since yesterday some analysts have noticed that when they click on a request its opening in a new tab. The strange thing is, its not happening for all of us. Cheers
James Ainsworth Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Hi Adam, Thanks for your post. It appears that there has been a change in the behaviour that wasn't intended. On the request list it seems that clicking on the request ID will open a new tab while clicking on the subject will open the request in the current tab. We are looking to return the bahaviour back to just opening the request in the current tab. Regards, James
Lyonel Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 @Adam Haylock, @James Ainsworth, we also noticed that recently. Just to add to the discussion, we noticed something even more "strange": when researching the requests (using the main search field at the top of the screen), you get a list of requests matching your criteria. Depending on where you click, the behavior is different: - Request ID => Opens a new tab / window - Summary => Opens in the current tab / window
Victor Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 @Lyonel as @James Ainsworth advised, we working to have this fixed to provide a consistent/unified functionality in this area Most likely all will be sorted in the next update.
nasimg Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 I noticed this behaviour after applying build 919 and using the new navigation. We see it specifically in Internet Explorer (Chrome, Firefox Safari opens a new tab in the current window which I like). Regards Nasim
m.vandun Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 We have this as well and to be honest I (and also my colleagues) like this functionality. Regards, Mark

PSG Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 We've noticed this too and the feedback from our users has not been positive. Was this feature intentionally introduced or is it an issue that will be reverted?

It would appear not, and reverting is the intention. On 23/02/2017 at 6:25 PM, James Ainsworth said: It appears that there has been a change in the behaviour that wasn't intended ... James Ainsworth Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Thanks everyone for your posts. Just to confirm that as mentioned, this change in behaviour was not intended and it will be reverted back in an upcoming build over the next week. It is important that we maintain consistency with the behaviour when clicking on links throughout Hornbill and the different apps. What we try to achieve is that all links to other areas within Hornbill (internal links) will open in the same tab. In some cases internal links are accompanied with an icon that identifies it as a link that will open a new tab. Any link that will take you out of Hornbill to an external site will open in a new tab. Apologies for any inconveniences this may have caused. Regards, James
