Xmlmc method invocation failed for BPM updating service level

I have 8 Requests that have all failed at exactly the same stage in the process today with no changes made to the IC, BPM or SLA's, they have been merrily working away for the last 2 months perfectly fine.  Any clues why?

The timeline has updated which makes it even more confusing:

When I refresh the process from the Request it DOES progress, but it didnt need this intervention before today.

Morning

Our teams have been experiencing the below error message on a particular business process since the last update. It is one whereby it is failing before the 'Analyst Assigned' stage, which IS not set in the BP to auto assign. I am then having to go in a restart the business process which is allowing it to flow correctly (screenshot taken after restart).

Has anyone else experienced this and got a quick fix? It is only happening on one particular catalog item with one flow attached.

We have recently started getting random XMLMC errors in our Business processes. It seems to be randomly occurring but is always at the the Hornbill automation step Type:  Update request  Task : Service level . Nothing has changed on our business processes and until this friday were all working fine.

If i go into the failed process and restart it it carries on fine then after a while another will fail on the same Hornbill automation step . Any ideas ?

This is now also affecting us; first time I've seen this is today, 5th September. We had 3 Requests today with this issue. Worryingly, that's 100% of the Requests that have the "Update Service Level" node... Restart on the last step does progress.
