  1. Yeah IE 11 sucks to be fair. Hopefully with Chromium Edge and the fact we push out Chrome already we can get rid of it this year. Though I am sure there will be some legacy application that stops us
  2. Hi (me again), Can we have the ability to force the height of widgets as well as width. I have a page with 3 widgets in line (1)(2)(1) with 2 being a text widget. If I add a 4th widget below (4 wide) it adds a scroll bar to the text widget (even though the text doesnt really need it, the scroll bar removes maybe a lines worth of white space at the bottom) I want to be able to set the height so that I can control if the text (or what ever widget) scrolls or is displayed in full. I like the way of controlling widgets in the Hornbill Today page but I am guessing that would involve a great deal of work to implement. Maybe something like the way you add tables in Word would work?: Thanks, Dan
  3. HI all, Now we have a shiny new portal, could we have a widget that will show all requests open under a certain domain or RI? Facilities get a lot of duplicate requests and short of raising a known error for all requests or adding everyone in the business as a connection there is no way for users to know if a request has already been logged. I was thinking of some options around the 'My Requests' type widget. The ability to filter on domain, the ability to show all requests under a certain RI or domain, the ability to be able to show all requests of a certain type. I know that there is an issue for some teams/departments to not have this ability (HR for example) but we have a number of teams that have requested this feature, and it comes up on our company innovations service on a regular basis.
  4. @Daniel Dekel I think showing only if it has results would be a good option. Maybe only showing the filters it has options under, with a number for how many articles/known errors there are. I am assuming that clicking an option will open it either in a pop out or a separate tab?
  5. Hi, On the widget to show your requests, when selecting 'Closed' it only replaces the requests already visible with closed requests. You have to click the 'Closed' drop down again to get it to show all requests under closed: I have waited a couple of minutes, thinking it was just grabbing the list of requests but it seems that I always have to click the drop down again for it to show them all.
  6. Hi all, I have noticed that on forms with a Summary field, when clicking into the field, it displays the search filter options. I am assuming that this is to do with the fact that users logging calls can have current FAQs/Known errors etc displayed to help mitigate multiple calls or stop calls if an FAQ article exists. It does feel a little confusing though: Also the text 'known Issue' is missing a capitalised 'K'
  7. @Gerry @Daniel Dekel Well I am planning on bringing my laptop on Thursday so I can show you how I have it set up and how I (in an ideal world) would like it to look. And what I am competing with lol. I was thinking of having something like 'Applications' as a domain for all the business apps we use, but there are so many that are only relevant to certain business units it made more sense to have a domain per business unit. Plus it will make more sense when I start adding service domain sub pages.
  8. @Gerry I needed to clear my browser cache and then it showed them all. Basically I currently have around 50 services in the old world (not all are shown on the portal) but it is starting to look abit messy. My plan is: IT, IT Sec and other IT teams fall under IT IT Change, Change and Projects all fall under Change and Projects 3 finance services all fall under Finance Marketing is just Marketing Procurement is just procurement Facilities and building security fall under Facilities HR will cover a number of HR services (yet to be built, looks like I finally got my way though) The scrubbed out ones basically replace 1 or 2 services each. I would love to be able to replace our company SharePoint landing page with this and then hyperlink out to SharePoint online for docs and stuff but doubt the business will let me do that (I may be surprised though) I get what you are saying with the using service domains as services but I have that many teams using Service Manager that have totally different service types it makes no sense to try and group them together.
  9. Hi all, me again, I have been adding service domains like a mad thing to the employee portal and have hit a slight snag. I have run out of space! I thought it would add a new line, at the worst a scroll bar, however this is not the case: There is at least one more page I have created that is not shown. And I have a few more to add yet!
  10. Got to give the guys time to put in annual leave/working from home requests/think of a sick reason
  11. I will be leaving my house at around 8 so hopefully nine thirty ish maybe? Lol. I need to look at the journey times to be fair. Plus half term will make it a little easier (hopefully)
  12. @Daniel Dekel I am down at yours on Thursday. If you feel like working from home that day I would understand lol
  13. Hi, When using links as tiles the widget seems to add a lot of white space (highlighted images to show weird spacing): If I remove the tile option the links are shown in a vertical list rather than a horizontal line. Also would it be possible to state recommended image sizes on widgets where it is applicable.
  14. Hi all, I have noticed the text is cut off on the My Services widget. Unsure if this is an issue with the icon and text combo or if this happens on all tiles: Thanks, Dan
  15. @Daniel Dekel I have also noticed that if using headings in wiki markup, the centre text function of the widget doesnt work.
  16. Hi, Could we have the option to centre the tiles in the links widget please? Drives me mad when I have 4 tiles, all same image size, and they are left justified. Triggers my OCD (and seems to make the page seem odd when paired with other widgets) I am sure that you are going mad with the amount of posts I have made in this subforum. I will stop soon I promise
  17. @Daniel Dekel I tried: <span style="color:red;font-size:14px;font-family:calibri">TEXT FOR WIDGET HERE</span> It just shows the actual text rather then doing the formatting. Tried it with just colour and size and tried it with a different font. All give the same results.
  18. @Daniel Dekel thats cool. Can we at least add more wiki markup options? I noticed that the wiki options to maunally set font size, type, colour etc (as listed in the wiki) dont work in the text widget.
  19. Hi, I have noticed that when pasting text into the text widget and then making edits in wiki markup the font sizes are not consistent. Could be have a few options around font/sizes like in the email editor? When adding bullet points for example the text within the bulletpoints and everything after seems to be at least 2 points larger than the preceeding text. Thanks, Dan
  20. @Steven Boardman thanks for the example. I did see this, and have a mess about before I wrote the rambler above, but I know what will happen. "We want to display our feedback ratings" or "We have a single bulletin that needs to show for a week only on our page" etc. etc. For the moment I guess I will have to stick with the way I am doing it and creating a links widget that link direct to the RIs. I am sure that many more widgets are already in the pipeline, just wanted to get one on the list before that list gets wayyyyyyy longer.
  21. Hi, Long (rambling, I am sure) post warning...[TL:DR] at the bottom. Pretty sure this is going to go down like a lead balloon but here goes.... Can we have a widget to show individual CIs? And here is the why... On the 'old' service portal, we tried to minimise the number of services. IT Issues, IT Requests, Marketing, Facilities etc etc. Nice and simple. User wants some colouring in doing? Off to Marketing you go. Printer chucking a fit? IT Issue logged. You may or may not know this, but I have a lot of different teams using Service Manager as an ESM solution. Our largest single team is not IT. Or HR. Or Finance. And more are coming as I migrate away from Jira (yay). Lots of teams that, in the 'old world', would have one service with a couple of CIs, maybe a set subscriber list, to log requests and make their lives a little easier in the process. Win, win all round. It makes sense to the user. It is easy for the teams (after a little training) and it is easy for me. Enter, the Employee Portal! Kicking down the door full of wonderful new things. Bells! Whistles!! Shiny bits and all things amazing!!! The crowd gasp. Hornbill administrators world wide are chomping at the bit to get stuck in. Now enter me. Stick, mud, you get the picture.... (Note: Now before you all paint me as a change hating fuddy duddy who doesn't like extra work, think about this....I am posting this at 23:10 after spending a fair few hours on a Friday night playing around. I love change. And new toys. I also have a habit of breaking stuff and finding a tiny flaw in something and poking it until it explodes. That's just me. Sorry.) Now, teams/departments that used to have a page full of CIs will have a whole page, with a single service. Upon clicking into said service you get the list of CIs. The users are up in arms. "Think of the extra clicks Dan!" they cry. "Think of the wear and tear on mice" The teams/departments are outraged. "Look at all that white space!" they say. "It looks like we don't provide any services at all!" "It is fine," says I, "try and fix it I shall" "Do or do not, there is no try!!" is the reply (sorry)... Anyway.... For whole, multi team departments this makes sense. IT encompasses Service Desk, Infrastructure, IT Security and Development Teams. The list of services is long and plentiful, the list of CIs even more so. I may even have to add multiple 'My Services' widgets and filter on category. HR would be the same (if I could convince them to use it, but that is a different story) Staff changes, queries, benefits, payroll, links to training and courses etc. Plus IT have bulletins, feedback ratings, FAQs and more. All the makings of a healthy looking page (or 3) to captivate the user, make the experience fulfilling and leave them feeling happy and joyous. Or at least that they will get that printer fixed... So (and if you have read this far I applaud you, fine reader) [TL:DR] At the moment I am making a CI list by using the links widget, but this breaks the look and feel of the thing because they don't display the way the CIs do when you do it the other (correct) way. A widget to show CIs based on a service (all CIs within the Marketing service for example) or the ability to select the services and then manually select the CIs you want would be very useful. Note: No alcohol was consumed prior to the creation of this post. Or during its creation. I don't drink. I am probably just a little mad...
  22. Hi, Can we have the ability to drag and drop reorder the links created in the link widget please. Just made 6 links and realised I had missed one that should have been in the number 2 slot...
  23. Hi, Unless I am being dense and missing it, can we have a button to add a new blank page, with a drop down to select the domain to add it to. At the moment I am having to navigate via the address bar to the page I want and then, when I get told it doesn't exist, click 'Create Page'. This seems very clunky and not very intuitive. I have look all over and cannot find a 'Add new page' button when in the editor anywhere.
  24. @Daniel Dekel to be honest the translation is fine as it is. Kind of makes sense to have it as it is. I have just made it a little more obvious what it does: Maybe it just needs to display more like a hyperlink?
