Martyn Houghton
Following the addition of being able to publish documents linked to services on the portals, which is a big step forward in us being able to regain the ability to publish a knowledge base on the portals, can we request some enhancements to make it more manageable and easier to use for the consumer, especially when a large volume of documents are linked. Documents to be grouped under the source Library, and initial display is Library headings, with the option to expand to list documents in said Library. Ability to control the order of the Libraries and the documents in the Service setup screen. Just to give you an example of the volume and structure we are trying to make usable in the Service Manager, please see below. At the moment the only way to change the order is to unlink the documents and then link them again in the order you want, but there is no grouping, so will just be one long list. James Ainsworth
Hi Martyn, Not being considered at the moment. I will review this post at a later date to see if is something that we can add. Regards, James
Martyn Houghton
@James Ainsworth Thanks for the update. Hopefully this will be something that will be considered soon as not being able to group/order them limits the practical use of the Document Libraries to build an extensive Knowledge Base. Vin B
+1 This would be really useful for me too, because to add a new document to display in the right place I have to unlink most of the documents then link the new document followed by relinking the rest
Martyn Houghton
@James Ainsworth Is there any update on this enhancement request or will the capability to provide a searchable/orderable document based knowledgebase be part of the long running 'Knowledgebase' project you are working on? Martyn Houghton
@James Ainsworth @Steven Boardman Any update on this? We are pushing more and more content on the Customer Portal to make it place to use for information and knowledge, rather than just a place to log a request. Not having the ability to group and order documents makes the system very unfriendly and cumbersome to use. Cheers Martyn
