  1. Hi all,

Please could I request the ability to suspend a request with "Wait for Linked Assets"?

Usage Scenario - When completing new starter requests we're required to allocate a laptop to the user, this exists within a checklist within an activity but sometimes it gets missed by the owner/analyst (Because checklists aren't currently mandatory) and causes a bit of an asset management headache as the laptop can then get linked to another starter request.

Alternatively, if anyone has any suggestions on how to better approach this please feel free to recommend.

    Thanks

  2. @Daniel Dekel - One of my colleagues mentioned that when completing a activity that contains a checklist, initially when they open the activity they only see the 'Complete' button. If they proceed to check things off the checklist then click 'Complete' it then removes the checks from the checklist and then shows the custom buttons, requiring them to re-check things off again. Is this normal behavior?

  3. @James Ainsworth - Thanks for the response. Just as an example, the other day we had a user who left their laptop on their desk after leaving for the day, we moved this into secure storage until they returned. Not sure this would warrant a 'Service Request' as such and therefore figured it'd be useful to capture the reason it was moved into storage whilst also updating the Location field.

  4. Hi all,

Would it be possible to add a 'Timeline' when viewing an asset? This would be a useful feature to capture historical information on the asset.

I understand that currently linked requests appear when viewing an asset, but sometimes there'd be times where it'd be useful to have a timeline to capture information outside of the scope of a request.

    Thanks in advance

@dwalby - I will look through the logs form last few days and see if I spot anything relevant to this set of issues...  the "Access Forbidden" page...did you and the users get that when trying to access a specific page./section or same message on different/various actions?

@Victor No, it appears immediately after being disconnected. Doesn't seem to be any particular action that causes the disconnection either, analysts can be in the request list view, viewing a request, etc. seems to be very random but affects all users concurrently.

@dwalby if both teams support the service then I think all is required is to enable this application setting to allow members from both teams to complete tasks:

@Victor I'm a bit stuck on this. I have some tasks that should be able to be completed by anyone supporting the Service (e.g. new starter process), but I also have tasks which are assigned to specific roles - and therefore shouldn't be completed by anyone else (e.g. the change process/change manager task I mention below). Is there a way of allowing some tasks to be completed by all but not others? I suppose the only other thing I could do is assign the tasks to a group rather than 'Request Owner' within the BPM?

The task that gets assigned to the Change Manager is to assess the change, so he's required to select; Normal, Standard or Emergency

Turning on the app.experimental.advancedRequestTaskCompleter setting appeared to allow any user to assess the change

We're not using an authorisation task for this because from what I understand you can only have 2 options in an authorisation task (we need 3 as above). I may be wrong though...

Switch over to the dashboard charts, you should see a couple of API calls, when clicking on them, you can see the preview message, if there are any errors presented here, please let us know

@Mohamed This is what I'm getting:

  9. @hollyp -  We do something similar for backup checks, etc.

You can setup a recurring scheduled activity/task with a checklist and assign to a particular team. This might be more suitable rather than obscuring your request statistics with daily reoccurring requests?

Some detail in the wiki on activity here: https://wiki.hornbill.com/index.php/Activities

We use activities to check systems, etc. then raise an incident if an issue is identified.
