Hornbill DBAssetImport tool error
Jack Stanton replied to Jack Stanton's topic in Integration Connectors, API & Webhooks
Hi Steve, Not using the previous JSON, using the template as a start - it's still throwing the following errors:- 2024/11/05 09:09:04 [ERROR] Error Decoding Configuration File: invalid character 'P' in string escape code 2024/11/05 09:09:05 [ERROR] Database configuration not set. 2024/11/05 09:09:05 [ERROR] [DATABASE] Database Connection String Empty. Check the SQLConf section of your configuration. The database "configuration" isn't set in the example CSV.Json either so uncertain why this is taking place? Any ideas?- 10 replies

Thanks steve, got that bit sorted, however... Now when i'm trying to run tests it's throwing the following:- 2024/10/30 14:55:36 [ERROR] Database configuration not set. 2024/10/30 14:55:36 [ERROR] [DATABASE] Database Connection String Empty. Check the SQLConf section of your configuration. But we typically run these by request via csv. so didn't believe this is required? Database Connection String also isn't present in the csv. sample json. either it seems? am i missing something? Thanks for the input!- 10 replies

Hornbill DBAssetImport tool error

Hey Steve, Unfortunately hit another snag, for some reason it won't allow me to input the API key? allows me to provide the instance name but doesn't allow for input against the API Key on first run? Is this a known issue or am i likely doing something wrong here?- 10 replies

Data source is via CSV, Tool states "goDBAssetImport_x64_v2_2_1" This was placed on an internal remote desktop for our team to access internally. Probably been a few updates since then but due to the nature of our organisation getting GitHub repository updates automatically i don't believe is a reality for us.- 10 replies

Good Morning, When attempting to perform a bulk update on our asset estate i'm getting an error thrown that we haven't seen before:- 2024/10/30 10:28:47 [ERROR] Unable to Update Asset: A database or query error occurred while updating record(s) 2024/10/30 10:28:47 [DEBUG] API Call XML: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <methodCallResult status="fail"> <state> <code>0200</code> <service>data</service> <operation>entityUpdateRecord</operation> <error>A database or query error occurred while updating record(s)</error> </state> </methodCallResult> Uncertain exactly what's causing it and neither me nor our database team can figure what's going wrong here? Was just looking to make some edits to our asset estate following a series of manual audits that took place. If anyone could shed any insights it'd be greatly appreciated and save the manual time editing asset records individually!

Hi Estie, Thanks for sharing this, it's exactly what i'm looking for but unfortunately it's not appearing the same for us... Is it possible for you to show the full permissions set applied on the user profile as a "model". My team have commented that they don't even get the drop-down for "Service Manager" appear for them...

@Steve Giller Hi Steve, The Asset Import Tool isn't the functionality our team has gotten used to, whilst it has it's purpose and we do utilise it for various purposes, the bulk upload functionality has provided us with a user friendly method for all our asset and licensing team members to perform routine bulk upload activities quickly. We have no issue with applying the "relevant roles" - but without being directed as to what those "relevant roles" are, we cannot seek to apply them to our team. Please can you confirm for us all here what "roles" these sit under without providing full and unnecessary administrative access to hornbill. Thank you.

Hi Steve, This has hit our teams also and we believed necessary permissions were already in place for the team - We want to provide access to the "Upload Assets" functions as previous but without granting additional administration privileges. What role is this contained under as it doesn't seem apparent from the get-go. Many thanks.
