Paul Welby
Hi, We are unable to download any new or existing reports and get the following error message 'Error - Failed to save downloaded content' I have checked with a colleague and they are also getting the same error message. (see attached) Any advice would be appreciated
Steven Boardman
@Paul Welby are you seeing this issue on all report export types (pdf, csv, xls, xlsx), or is it specific to one or a few?
Paul Welby
@Steven Boardman non of the export types are working and this has now been reported by quite a few users within our Organisation.
Steven Boardman
@Paul Welby thanks for confirming. As we are not able to replicate what your experiencing, and you are seeing this for multiple users, can i suggest for the speediest remedy, you log this with our support team? https://www.hornbill.com/support
Steve Giller
@Paul Welby I've just been informed you're still seeing this, so it's not related to the issue we thought as that was fixed some time ago. It also appears that this only occurs in IE, not in Chrome - is this still the case?
Paul Welby
@Steve GillerYes, our Hornbill has been packaged for IE and this is still an issue. Thanks
Victor
@Paul Welby Hornbill is not really packaged for any browser. It works on the majority of browser and the supported browsers and versions are detailed on the wiki but we don't "package" it. Now, I understand from teh above that you are not able to use Chrome in your organisation, can you try DL the reports using Edge then? Meanwhile I can have a look and see why this occurs specifically in IE.
Paul Welby
@VictorThanks, yes I can confirm that I can download reports using Edge.
Victor
@Paul Welby good news My suggestion would be to use Edge (especially in this area) if possible since IE will reach EOL in Aug next year. I have asked dev team to look into why the issue specifically occurs in IE.
Victor
@Paul Welby FYI the issue causing an error when downloading report files in IE has been confirmed as a defect and a fix for it will be deployed in the next admin tool update.
