Kelvin Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Is there a way I can export the Asset DB to CSV file
James Ainsworth Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Hi Kelvin, Thanks for your post. You are able to use Database Direct in the admin tool to export to CSV. This will required admin privileges to access. In the future we may look to extend the Asset List to include similar features as seen in the Request List where you can perform exports. Regards, James
Kelvin Posted August 3, 2016 Author Posted August 3, 2016 Will I be able to extract the whole asset DB or will I be limited to 1000 records?
James Ainsworth Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 The 1000 limit is a configuration setting that you can change. You can find this setting within Administration under System->Settings->Advanced and searching on maxResultsAllowed api.xmlmc.queryExec.maxResultsAllowed I would recommend that large exports are done during quiet times and you may want to return to the default setting of 1000 after you have done your export. Claire Holtham Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Hullo, does the 1000 line limit apply to the reports too? I've just ran a report and it appears to be truncating at 1000 lines.
James Ainsworth Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Hi Claire, Yes, the limit will cover any query. You may find that you have areas where you are commonly wanting to run reports or view large lists that exceed 1000. If that is the case, find a number that gives you some room above the default 1000 to allow you to get the number of results that you desire, while keeping it under a reasonable size. There is no harm in having this set to a higher number. I hope that helps. Regards, James
Claire Holtham Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Thanks very much James! I'd been running multiple reports and then manipulating them in Excel. This will make life much easier. :-) Appreciated! Claire
