Asset Register drop down lists

Hope you are all well.  Please would it be possible to advise if there is a way to add a drop down list to the free text fields in the asset register?  Thank you.

Can you describe what you're trying to achieve?

My gut instinct is to say "Of course not, a free text field is free text - you need to use a drop-down list field" but I feel I'm probably misunderstanding the question here.

Thank you for such a quick response.  I have checked and we are just wondering if it is possible to change the free text fields to Drop down lists in the Asset register if required?  Or if this option is not do-able?  Thank you.

Hi Ann,

Thanks for your post.  There isn't currently an option to create drop down lists for the asset fields.  We do have some changes in our development backlog to look into this requirement, but there isn't anything planned in the short term.  If this changes, I'll will be sure to update this post.

HI Ann,

Thanks for your post.  As mentioned in my previous comment, we already have changes raised in our backlog for this.  It is just a matter of scheduling.  It is being investigated, but not yet scheduled as part of a release.  I'll let you know if there is any progress.
