Email template ref not populating

Hi

 

i have an email template with a link on it configured as below. * the email address is populated just for info taken out for this forumn.

When the link is selected in order to create an email to reply the call reference is not being populated.

 

Is the configuration below correct or am i missing something?

The way that the popup builds the link means that it (quite correctly) encodes the { to %7B and the } to %7D which means that within the Template they are not seen as variable delimiters any more.

Using the "Source" button on the email Template Editor image.png you can directly edit the link to return them to curly braces and the variable will now populate.
The section will say something like:

?subject=%7B%7B.H_pk_reference%7D%7D%20Approved&

and you need to change it to

?subject={{.H_pk_reference}}%20Approved&

Please note that any mistake here could cause problems ranging from a slightly odd-looking subject right up to an irrevocably-broken Template, so use this edit with caution.
