Claire B
Good afternoon all, I make use of PowerBi to report on Service Manager calls/CI records, and noticed when looking at Assets if there was a user recorded against an CI record, and then removed, for that particular asset, UsedBy column is updated with urn:sys::::, with UsedByName still having the name of previous user recorded against e.g. Asset ID 12345 in use by Jane Smith: UsedBy: urn:sys:0:Jane Smith UsedByName: Jane Smith If Jane Smith is no longer the owner of the asset, it will then be displayed as below: UsedBy: urn:sys:::: UsedByName: Jane Smith Should the UsedByName not be blank? This currently affects the PowerBi reporting whereby you'd see a list of Assets with names recorded against them (UsedByName) but looking at the CI records, for some of them the names will not appear, indicating that they are no longer the owner. TIA.
Steve Giller
How are you removing the "Used By" record? I've just tested this on my Instance and in all cases the Used By Name was also cleared:
Claire B
We haven't done anything to the Used By field. We usually update the Used By Name field manually on CMDB, by removing the name on the CI record. Audit History of the CI record match with what we're experiencing, unfortunately I can't seem to upload an image onto this forum of what this looks like on our end for some reason. Claire B
Hi Steve, I've just asked my colleague to upload the image onto this post, but it's not working for him either. Is it possible if I could have your email address please, so I can send this over? TIA.
