Alisha
Hello, We have quite a lot of text that we'd like to display on a page and keeping it all on one page would be preferable. Could we have some Wikitext to collapse and expand the text please? This page gives some examples of what we'd like to do: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Collapsing Many thanks, Alisha
Daniel Dekel
Hi @Alisha, I see it can be quite convenient in several cases. The problem we have is that our WiKi doesn't support container elements such as tables or divs. Therefore we can't specify what to collapse as in WiKiMedia elements. Alisha
Thanks @Daniel Dekel, would this, or something similar, be a possibility in the future?
Daniel Dekel
Hi @Alisha, I'm not sure it will be added. The idea if WiKi in our system is to allow basic text formatting such as bold, italic and links. To give me some idea, in what area do you want to use this feature? Regards, Daniel. Alisha
Hi @Daniel Dekel, We'd like to use this in text widgets on a Domain sub-page. We have a lot of information to display and customers could just click on the section they're interested in reading and expand that. This would be easier to manage than having lots of sub-pages and linking to them. Many thanks, Alisha
Daniel Dekel
Hi @Alisha, The problem having such functionality is that widgets are supposed to be quite simple and minimalistic. Expanding or adding more data to the current widget will result in either increasing the size of the widget or adding ugly scrollbars and that can break the layout of the entire page. Regards, Daniel.
