Kelvin
I am trying to create a report that will give me all assets and their calls for a certain asset type. At Insights I was given a starter definition file with the table joins but I have been unable to get this to return any data. Any help would be greatly appreciated. assets-with-calls.report.txt
Steve Giller
Hi @Kelvin I imported that definition and it's working fine for me. Do you see any results on the "Data Preview" tab of the Report Details? Are you running this manually within the Report Builder or via a schedule etc? Kelvin
Hi @Steve Giller I am using the Report Builder in the Admin Panel. I get the following.
Steve Giller
@Kelvin That's where I'm looking, and I see exactly the same but with Assets visible. I also added an asset to a Request that didn't previously have one and the preview updated to include that request. Is the Report you're using exactly the same as the one attached in your original post, or have you made any changed - e.g. added any filters? You mention a certain asset type, have you filtered on that? If so, that might be where the problem lies.
Kelvin
@Steve Giller I have just downloaded the file above add uploaded as a new report and this still comes up with "No Preview Data Returned" not added any filters
Steve Giller
This is what I see, so it appears the report should be working. Can you confirm how the assets are attached to the Requests - are they appearing in the Assets tab of the Requests, for example?
Kelvin
@Steve Giller The Assets are appearing in calls as below
Steve Giller
I can see you have a support contract with us, if you can raise a request we can arrange to look into this a bit more deeply.
Kelvin
@Steve Giller I thought I would come back to the forum as I can see from the support ticket this is a case of query is to large to complete within 30 seconds. What I am trying to achieve is a list of calls with the asset type == 15. Do you know if there is a more optimised approach. Thanks
Steve Giller
@Kelvin I'm not a SQL specialist, bur I believe that grouping is quite intensive (and in your report didn't appear to do very much) so removing that should help. You can match for asset type == 15 in the Select Filter tab. Hopefully the more experienced report writers from the Community will take it from here and give their advice.
