Nikolaj Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Hello All, Will it be possible to get an notification if a tasks is completed? Thanks Nikolaj
AlexTumber Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 @Nikolaj thanks for your post. Do you mean a Hornbill notification to the Project Manager? (Like the functionality available in project milestones) Alex
Nikolaj Posted June 4, 2018 Author Posted June 4, 2018 Hi Alex, Exactly this is what i mean :-) thanks Nikolaj 1
AlexTumber Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 @Nikolaj great. I'll have a chat with our product and development teams. I can't see this being difficult to add. Alex
AlexTumber Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 @Nikolaj I'm pleased to say that this feature will be included as part of the next Project Manager update. Alex
Nikolaj Posted June 5, 2018 Author Posted June 5, 2018 @alextumber That sounds good. Is there a date for the update? Thanks Nikolaj
AlexTumber Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 @Nikolaj the latest Project Manager update is now available. Alex
Nikolaj Posted June 8, 2018 Author Posted June 8, 2018 @alextumber sounds good i will have a look thanks 1
Darren Rose Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 Nice addition to the product, @alextumber Is it possible to configure it as 'on' by default for tasks 1
AlexTumber Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 @Darren Rose there is currently no configuration setting. I can ask our development team to change that for the next update in both the project template tasks and the project tasks themselves. It is a very simple change. Alex 1
Nikolaj Posted June 8, 2018 Author Posted June 8, 2018 Good idea, i think that could be something for the settings where you can set it up " notification on as default" 2
AlexTumber Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 @Darren Rose @Nikolaj Thanks for your feedback on this. I will ask our development team about the prospect of introducing app settings for both tasks and milestones so that you can set the notification to default to on or off globally. I don't think it will be too much effort. Alex 1
Nikolaj Posted June 11, 2018 Author Posted June 11, 2018 Hello @alextumber, It seems that the notification for a task is not working fine when a colleague ( Project Member) is doing it. when i do it as "Project Manager" then it works fine. We tried it several times. is there any access rights missing? Thanks Nikolaj
AlexTumber Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 @Nikolaj there are no rights missing. When completing the tasks, are your project members doing so from the Project Task view, or from the Core Task View? Alex
Nikolaj Posted June 11, 2018 Author Posted June 11, 2018 @alextumber by clicking Complete in this view...
AlexTumber Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 @Nikolaj ok thanks. I will ask our development team to take a look. Alex
Nikolaj Posted June 12, 2018 Author Posted June 12, 2018 @alextumber sorry that was a wrong information. he is doing it from the "My Activities". The other way is working we tried it now.
AlexTumber Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 @Nikolaj thanks for confirming this. Our development team have identified the problem when completing a task from outside of the project manager app and are currently working on a fix. In the mean time, I can confirm that the setting of the notify pm flag when creating new milestones and tasks will now be controlled by app settings. This also applies to milestones and tasks created against project templates and will be available in the next update:
Nikolaj Posted June 13, 2018 Author Posted June 13, 2018 @alextumber this is great thanks. I have something else maybe that is an change request for your Team. It would be nice if the Project task in the activity list looks the same as in Hornbill Project Manager and not like a task from the Service Manager. then is much easier to identify where the task come from and you also have the full function of it for example you can post a comment or you can change the progress status. Project Task in project Manager: Project Task same as the task from the top but from the activity view: Task from the Service Manager in Hornbill: 1
AlexTumber Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 @Nikolaj thanks for your feedback. I will pass this on to our product teams here at Hornbill. Alex

It would make it a lot easier when managing a wide variety of different tasks via 'Activities' 1
