  1. Does anyone know if the MS changes to Basic Authentication and Exchange Online will affect email configuration requirements in Service manger? Basic Authentication and Exchange Online – September 2021 Update - Microsoft Tech Community
  2. I've created a PC which has a loop in for if a customer hasn't provided any information (some fields can't be mandatory for this process). However, it has led to a very strange phenomenon. It fails, saying a duplicate formID was found and then logs a call with no information in it at all. I include my definition file if anyone is curious. reqsoftwareinstall.pcf.txt
  3. The rather excellent Paul Alexander resolved my issue . If anyone else is interested, check out this thread.
  4. Ahha! Brilliant, just what I need. Thanks a bunch Paul.
  5. Ok, I figured it out, I had "Auto generate name" on. Oddly it decided to do nothing but generate the name and not bring any other details in. Also, if you have put a prefix in, you cant remove it. If you delete it, save the record and go back in, the prefix is still there. Maybe some bugs there?
  6. Hey Paul, no I didn't sus it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
  7. Does this also apply to co-workers? Since you can only select one, I'm going to hope that you can refer to that.
  8. I'm allowing the customer to select the asset. I simply want to refer to that information in part of the BMP - cards/notices etc.
  9. The title says it all really. In my progress capture I've a "Form" which deals with computer assets which the user can select from. I want to be able to use that "capture" in my BMP, but for the life of me I can't find the right tool to do this with. I've slogged through the Wiki and the boards, but, as yet, have not seen a way of doing this. Any ideas?
  10. Thanks for the advice Steve. I've filled in the sheet according to the required and optional fields as shown in https://wiki.hornbill.com/index.php?title=Understanding_the_Asset_Structure so I can't understand why it doesn't work. Surely that's the gold standard method.
  11. I've removed the quotes from Admin - I tried both variations. Also removed the "degrees" symbol in the software title of that test. Same result.
  12. Here's my test file. Test_assetSoftware.csv
  13. Ok, still no joy. I have Version, Type, State, Name, locationType, lastUpdatedBy and acqmethod populated as specified, and yet it is still not bringing any information across.
  14. Ahha! Don't worry about it, I see what's going on. It's those mandatory junk fields. I'll get it sorted, cheers.
  15. I found this, but it's not very helpful. Understanding the Asset Structure - Hornbill
  16. Thanks Steve, does anyone know where I can find a list of the expected field types for software assets? (It would be handy if the downloadable template came with a demo set of items).
  17. I'm importing software assets into Service manager via a CSV. The fields I need are populated, and those which require a variable are also populated. When importing, everything goes through with no errors. So far so good... However... There is no data being imported, just a record with a name as the Asset ID; none of the detail provided on the CSV at all, for any of the records. Any ideas what's going wrong here?
  18. Ah yeah, I just figured that out, cheers. I'll give it a go.
  19. I'm not sure what you mean there. Can you elaborate please?
  20. Because the analyst will be setting the password manually in AD, so they need to see it at the time they do the rest of the human task before the BPM emails it. I could look at doing some Cloud Automation to set it, then they wouldn't need to do that part. In fact, I could probably do the whole of that part of the process via "cloud" if I'm clever. EDIT: It appears that the cloud automation can't set the password - understandable.
  21. I'm full of ideas and I've got another query. I have a "Cloud Automation" generating a password; this is then updated to the request information as a custom field. What I'd like to do is use that custom field in a Human Task; for instance, instead of the agent having to pop a password into a "single line text field", it's already populated for them (they then copy it and use to update the users AD account, and then send the new password to the customer). I can't seem to find a way of getting that info into the human task fields at all. Does any one have an idea?
  22. Here's my scenario; On a progressive capture I have a selection box populated with user names and stored in a custom field. Now in my BPM I want to use that info to find the associated email address for that user. I've had a good rummage around, but can't seem to find any way of doing this. Has anyone any ideas?
  23. Well, it turns out you can't do it as yet, however, I was able to highlight that the person who the ticket is for is a VIP. Essentially it was to populate an active directory attribute with an identifying "tag". That "tag" is then imported with your LDAP info. Map that to a custom field in the BPM. Get customer info, update customer fields and then use a decision to identify if that value is present. At that point you can do what you want with the ticket; add a notice, change the colour of a board card, send an email etc. etc.
