Alisha
Good afternoon, Is there a limit to how many Routing Rules we can have in our instance, and if we have several Routing Rules, will this impact on the performance? We are starting to have more requests for automatically logged requests from an email, so just wanted to check what the impact would be. Many thanks, Alisha
Gerry
@Alisha There is no limits, you can really have as many routing rules as you want. The processing uses in-memory evaluation of expressions using our ExpressLogic engine, it is very very fast, so the expressions or numbers of them so unless you start adding 100's of 1000's of rules you are good to go. Please keep in mind though that the more of these you add, the more of a headache it will be to troubleshoot, although we have recently added something that will be released very soon that will help a lot with that. See the attached, each email message delivered into your Hornbill instance will now include a log detailing the email delivery/import process. Of particular interest will be the part of the log that shown in the green box, which shows you the inbound email routing rule processing, and if any of the rules matched. This new log will be out in the next week or two, so please watch this space. Gerry
