Summary Tasks displace Tasks in Gantt View

I have a bunch of sequential tasks that show like this in the Gannt view:

When I activate the Use Summary Tasks button the order changes and it seems the start date is ignored, have I missed something?

@Sam P thanks for your post.

It's difficult to tell from just a screenshot but I would hazard a guess that this is a data issue. Can I ask if all of your project tasks have start and end dates?

@AlexTumber  Hi Alex, yes they do

@AlexTumber just created a new Project from template and this seems to be OK now.

I have a feeling some of the tasks in the example shown above did not have start dates when they were created from the Template before I updated it, and despite updating them manually once the Project was created perhaps the Summary Task view was not picking them up somehow.  Not sure.  Will monitor, thanks
