Damola Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 The file attached shows Gantt chart with just the Tasks and timeline, no *work resource*. This is a real limitation! Project managers should have the ability to see all on a page. You should be able to put resources against Tasks just for visual, nothing to do with picking up tasks on Hornbill, therefore licences should not be required.
Steve Giller Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 It's not clear what you're requesting here, but from the post title it looks like you are including the ability to assign Project Tasks? Any direct interaction with a Task, including assigning it, is collaboration and would logically therefore require a license.
Damola Posted September 12, 2023 Author Posted September 12, 2023 Hi Steve, the request is to have the ability to put resource names against tasks. This information would then be pulled through on the Gantt chart. This would help the Project managers a great deal. And also help when presenting the project plan to stakeholders using this tool. Collaboration is not necessary, just wondering if a field could be added for this purpose. Thanks
Steve Giller Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 @Damola Just to clarify the requirement, are you asking that the Task Assignee is displayed on the Gantt Chart, rather than asking that a PM can assign a Task?
Damola Posted September 19, 2023 Author Posted September 19, 2023 @Steve Giller I found the ''Assigned to'' field on the gantt chart, thank you! Wondering if the ''assigned to'' field can be free text (when editing the task). Free text would help put names against the tasks e.g suppliers would have tasks on a project plan but of course no access to our Hornbill platform (no licence)
