Services Security Group

Is it possible to set up a custom security group to give users access to be able to change the status of a service without being able to modify the setup of the service or add/delete services?

As part of our major incident process we want our analysts to be able to change the service status to make it visible on the portal but we don't want them to be able to modify any of the setup of the services, response times or resolution times

thanks,

Pete

Hi @Everton1878

Thanks for your post.  There is a way that you can control access to Services which may get you a bit closer to your goal.  There is some documentation which can be found here that describes some of these features.  By settings an owner against a service you can then make the Service Private which then only allows access to that service if you are the owner of the service or a member of a team that supports that service.  In both cases the users must have the Services Manager role. The members of the teams that support the service who have the Services Manager role can only update the status, FAQs, and Bulletins.  As these users will be granted the Services Manager role there will need to be some consideration on the visibility that they have to other services that are not set to Private.

We recognize that additional levels of access to a service could improve how people interact with the Service itself, so you should see additional options for access become available over time.

James

Hi @Everton1878

Someone with Admin rights will still have the ability to change the owner to the new owner and make other changes.  There has been considerations with having multiple owners and also providing more granular control over who has what rights to the different aspects of a service.  More of these options are likely to roll out over time.

James
