While creating a Service, we are able to link assets to a particular Service.
Is it possible to have a feature where  -  when user creates a new request against a particular service, they are able to see assets linked to that service?

Hi Reena,

Thanks for your post.  I'm interested to know a bit more about how you would like this to work and which of the following fits the requirement that you are looking for.

The assets associated to a service can be seen as the assets that underpin the service.  In the future this will lead into providing status updates to the service when one of the supporting assets is impacted.  It will also contribute to change management where one will see what service may be affected when a managing a change to an underpinning asset.

From a user's perspective they may want to raise an incident against there PC. Using something like a Desktop Support service in progressive capture one would only want the customers assets that are supported as part of this service such as a PC.  For example you may not want a chair to show as an asset when using the Desktop Support service nor should they see the back end servers or assets that underpin the service.

Regards,

James

Hi James,

Thanks for your reply.

I have created a Service for AV (Audio / Video). We have AV equipment (for eg: Monitors, etc) in 3 rooms. These equipment belong to a room, as opposed to a user.

While creating AV Service, I have linked assets associated with this service.

When user creates a request against this service, the only way user see these asset is, if they type "AV" on All Assets search box. I want to automate this so that, when user creates a request against AV, it shows only AV assets, without user having to type in AV.

Hope this makes sense.

Regards,

Reena
