Bob320 Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I'm trying to clear down the assets in preparation for a fresh upload using the cleaner but get this: D:\hornbill>hornbillCleaner_w64.exe ===== Hornbill Cleaner Utility v1.0.3 ===== WARNING! This utility will delete all records from the following entities in Hornbill instance: https://eurapi.hornbill.com/xxxxxxxxxx/xmlmc/ as specified in your configuration file: * All Assets (and related data) Are you sure you want to permanently delete these records? (yes/no): yes Are you absolutely sure? Type in the word 'delete' to confirm... delete sqlQuery was unsuccessful for table [h_cmdb_assets]: Unable to execute query There are no assets to delete. I know I have some assets
Steve G Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Hi Bob, Apologies for the time taken to respond to your post. Are you still experiencing this issue with the Hornbill Cleaner tool? I've ran v1.0.3 against an instance with a number of assets on, and this is working fine on this instance. From the message you are receiving, the issue may be that the account that you are using for the delete may not have the correct permissions to run a query against the table that holds the primary asset records. Have you tried this with an administrator account for your instance? Kind regards, Steve
Hornbill Staff DR Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Hi Bob320,  the message "SQL Query was unsuccessful" is typically experienced when the Hornbill Database refuses to execute a query. By default, database query operations are locked down. This lock-down can be lifted by amending the System setting: "security.database.allowSqlQueryOperation". Information on this can be found on the Hornbill Clean Utility wiki page https://wiki.hornbill.com/index.php/Hornbill_Clean_Utility  in the troubleshooting section. Please let us know if the issue persists after amending this system setting. Thanks, Dan
swcbc Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Thanks that sorted it.
