Service Manager uses the Service (and in some cases system settings) to drive which Business Process to invoke, rather than the other way around. This is even more so the case where customers are using the Request Catalog functionality, and you can associate a specific business process to each request catalog item which you have defined and you offer to your customers, and as each request catalog item is linked to a Service, this is automatically picked up.
