Hi,

I am looking to customise the email templates that are used in a Hornbill Business Process, however I don't know where to find them in the User App or the Admin Tool. I'd like to add company logo's, images and text and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Alex

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your post.

The Hornbill Service Manager App actually contains a number of pre-configured templates straight out-of-the-box. These can be found via Hornbill Administration by switching to the "Hornbill Service Manager" context (using the Application Context menu up at the top left) and clicking "Email > Templates".

Selecting "Requests" from the list of entities available will display the list of email templates. To edit a template, click on the Template name. If you find that none of the available templates are relevant to your need, you can create a new one by clicking "Create Template".

NB: It's important to ensure that when specifying the template name in your BPM Email Notification Node that it is in exactly the same form as the template name shown in the list of email templates. I find performing a copy-paste is the best approach.

Hi,

Since the new update to the admin page, it seems like a few of the options previously available are no longer showing.

Font

Font Colour

It's also changed one of the subjects of one of my templates to "undefined" and when I change it to what it was previously, and click Save Changes, it doesn't respond.

Can someone please advise or let me know if i'm doing something wrong?

Thanks

Hi Greg

I have found and fixed the issue with the email templates and will be fixed in the next release of the Admin Tool.

I cannot replicate the undefined subject issue can you open developer tool F12 and look in the console tab and click safe and see if there are any errors?

Kind Regards

Hi Trevor,

Thanks for looking in to this.

Regarding the second issue, the below pictures show what I mean. The subject has changed to undefined.

I can't remember whether we chose this from the drop down or selected cut and paste previously, but I had added a variable to my templates that meant that the request id/reference was shown in the subject. Now when I paste it in, it still allows me to click Save Changes, but nothing updates (and the colour is a different red to the Name field which suggest it doesn't like the variable).

This has definitely changed because the templates were working before the admin update.

I tried the F12 but saw no errors.

Thanks

The variable works fine within the subject, the reason why the subject is coloured differently and is not saving your changes is because it seems that the character limit for subject is 65. If you reduce the number of characters to be less or equal to 65 you should be able to save the subject text.

I am not sure if it was always limited but I will ask this internally.

I have removed the 64 character limit on the subject field which was erroneously added.

Will be available in the next Admin Tool Release this week.

Ok, thank you both for the clarification.
