JJack Posted Wednesday at 15:13 Posted Wednesday at 15:13 Hi, In Platform Configuration, we have 3 pages of people with a first name of, let's say, Adam. We have a capture with a select box populated by a Data Query with Search All Users. An entry typed as Adam brings back 10 people with first names of Adam (and a scroll bar to look through them). If I change the entry to Adam George, I get the person expected - who did not appear amongst the 10 people. There was no indication that the 10 people returned might not be a complete list. Can someone explain? The documentation at Service Manager Configuration Guide - Customized Forms does not seem to help. Thanks in anticipation.
Steve Giller Posted Wednesday at 15:20 Posted Wednesday at 15:20 The picker will return up to 10 results at a time, as you've found, typing the name until the required one is in the list is how this works; I expect "Adam G" would get you there. This is to prevent a list that either disappears off the bottom of the screen or gives a user RSI from scrolling! I would recommend using the Description box on the capture form field to note that you can type to search. This style of picker is currently being reviewed to see if useability needs to be improved, but the current behaviour is as you describe and may need communicating to your Users. 1
JJack Posted Thursday at 12:10 Author Posted Thursday at 12:10 Thanks @Steve Giller We don't use this query in many places so probably why we haven't picked this up properly. I'll add a note about how it works, as you suggest. Hope it proves possible to improve the usability, thanks.
