Scott Morton Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Historically we have a number of scheduled reports that are published to a shared library under the documents area. Unfortunately the people who set these up have now left and the knowledge of how it was done was not passed on. I have set up a new report which I also want to schedule and publish to a library. I have followed the guidance on https://docs.hornbill.com/servicemanager-config/reporting/scheduling but I am unsure how to link the schedule to the document in the library. Nothing is appearing under Document even if search which I attempt to link the report to the document in the library. I suspect I'm missing one small simple step and would appreciate any advice on how to achieve this.
Elvis Dervishi Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Hi @Scott Morton Can you check the app setting in service manager "app.itsm.reports.savePDFonGeneration" if it is on. Another thing you have to know is that if a pdf document already exist for a specific report in Document Manager, if you run that report it will just update the existing document with the latest data and it will not create a new document for that specific report. 1
Scott Morton Posted February 14 Author Posted February 14 Thanks for the advice @Elvis Dervishi I will look into what you've advised. However, I think I may have found the issue and it may be a lot simpler. I did not realise that when searching for the document, you searched for the tag rather than the document name. When I searched for the tag it then presented me with the documents with that tag and allowed me to select the report I wanted. So hopefully when the report next runs it will update the appropriate document. But I'm currently running a test and I will confirm if it has worked.
Elvis Dervishi Posted February 14 Posted February 14 @Scott Morton When opening "My documents" you can search the document by report name
Scott Morton Posted February 14 Author Posted February 14 Thanks again @Elvis Dervishi for the assistance. I've now managed to update a report in the a document library from a scheduled report. It was linking the schedule to the document I was struggling with. I did not find the process that intuitive, it is a shame you cannot just browse the libraries when scheduling and link to the document. Or even create a new document in the library when scheduling.
