CMBD edit view

I have a fault/request submitted by someone who is regularly modifying assets on our system. They report that when clicking Edit, it opens the Finance box by default, they do not believe this used to happen.

I have been unable to find any personal or application setting that would control this view, is anyone able to advise on what would control this, or where defaults can be set?

I think the sections open where there is any required property.  If you check the relevant asset type you may be able to see if there is any required property under the Finance section?

So you seem to have nailed which ones are opening. It appears to be any section that opens and has a required property, whether it's filled or not. All of those required properties are provided though, as far as I'm able to tell (based on the red highlights at least), so it's not like there's a case of 'attention needed' there. The ones that are remaining closed have no required properties at all.
