JanS2000 Posted November 7 Posted November 7 Morning, could anyone advise whether it's possible to bulk upload to a simple list? Potentially we'll have list of thousands of stock items to add if a new workflow gets approval. If it isn't possible, can anyone suggest another way we could do this (only thing I can think of is to bulk upload as assets and use that as the look up in the intelligent capture form instead of a simple list). Thanks Janet
Gareth Cantrell Posted November 7 Posted November 7 Yes, you can. If you click the "Upload" button on the simple lists page, it will allow you to download a template file which you can complete with your list data and then use the "Select CSV file to upload" once you're ready. EDIT: If you want to get all your existing items from the simple list, the easiest is to create a report (using the SQL Schema Designer option) on h_sys_lists, and filter on the List name. 1
Berto2002 Posted November 7 Posted November 7 May be worth you knowing that you can use workflow to create simplelists, to add and to remove items; so maintaining large lists of Simplelist items can be put into a workflow where you an give 'someone in the business' access to add and remove items as necessary rather than relying on you. Hornbill may have something to say about you having simplelists with 'thousands' of rows tho... 2
JanS2000 Posted November 7 Author Posted November 7 Thanks @Gareth Cantrell and @Berto2002. I know it's not ideal to upload so many into a simple list and won't do that if I can avoid it. I need to look again at the existing process that we need to replace (old infopath form), and see if anything else will be better.
