Gareth Cantrell Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Is there a way to send a translated email notification based on the user's language profile? I'd like to avoid, if possible, replicating the notification in every supported language in a single email.
James Ainsworth Posted November 7 Posted November 7 Hi Gareth, There are a lot of different scenarios that might need to be looked at to give you a compete answer. There is no "translate on the fly" option for emails which means that a single email written in English, couldn't be automatically translated to another language based on the customer's language or country code without some sort of interaction or configuration. Most of our language capabilities are based on the context of the logged in user. We have less control over emails. A single email might have multiple recipients where each recipient speaks a different language. I have seen some customers that use the ESP Conditions on email templates that can manage some scenarios. I believe that this might be what you are referring to when you say "supported language in a single email" that you would like to avoid. Some scenarios might be accommodated through "decisions" in workflows or possibly now the "custom lookups" pointing to different email templates or injecting different translated text into the body of the email from the workflow. Emails that are manually sent from a request would need a different approach.
