Peter Clough Posted October 25 Posted October 25 At the HUG on Wednesday, we learned that you can now get an email notifying you of when a task is assigned to you. I've done some brief testing of this, and I was able to get the notification when I created a task on a test request, and assigned it to me. When I assigned it to my colleague, they got no email. We both had the setting turned on before the task was created. Would it be possible to get a list of exactly what will trigger the email, assuming the notifications are turned on. In addition, as an enhancement to the feature, would it be possible to get these notifications for when something is assigned to your team as well? This would of course also need to be disabled by default. But I have a couple of workflows where I've specifically added an email notification to make sure the task is picked up quickly, and having this option would simplify this greatly for those who want it.
David Hall Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Hi @Peter Clough I've just had a look into this.. provided the setting is enabled for your colleague then it should send an email. One possible scenario which could prevent the email from being sent here is if your colleague does not have access to the request the task is being created against. In your example was your colleague subscribed to the service used on the request etc? If they can view the request, have an email address defined in their profile and have the notification option turned on then it should send. Kind regards, Dave
Peter Clough Posted November 4 Author Posted November 4 Hi @David Hall, thanks for the response, they do get other emails from the system, and I'm pretty sure they could view the request. Will do some more testing.
Fola Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Hello @Peter Clough, I want to turn on email notifications for tasks assigned, but don't know how. Could you possibly guide me through how to do that?
