Hi all,

We've just started using the knowledge system and it's helping us to get everything organised. Just had a few points to raise as potential future enhancements.

  • While populating the topics I have noticed that while you can drag root topics to change the order in the list. The functionality currently doesn't exist to rearrange sub topics, either by an automatic A-Z sort option or manually via drag and drop.
  • We also have a number of training guides and user guides that are in PDF format. Can we request a possible addition in the future of uploading a document as an article?
  • If someone leaves and is the owner of multiple documents is there a way of transferring the ownership in bulk to another member of the team?
  • Can we restrict Knowledgebases to certain Teams? We have multiple business support units using Hornbill for Accounts queries, Service Desk, Application Support etc and it would be useful to have them only able to see applicable Knowledgebases to their Team.

Thanks for all your efforts so far in bringing this extra functionality to Hornbill. Apologies if any of this was covered at the conference the other week.

Thanks for your post.  The option to order the sub-topics is scheduled to be done.  It shouldn't be too long until you have this.

The focus of the knowledge management at the moment is to provide an editor where articles can be easily added and edited.  The way articles are currently managed allow for audit trails of changes,  Providing somewhere for PDF documents to be uploaded is a bit of a different process.  We already have Document Manager where PDFs and other document types can be uploaded and managed.

There will be a feature that allows you to add attachments to an article. Once this is available you would have an option to create an article describing the training guide and attached to the article would be the downloadable PDF.

We can investigate the ability to embed an PDF within an article for a future release.

This work for this feature is in progress and it is likely that it will be available over the next 4-8 weeks.
