This is a niche request really but I think it would be particularly useful for an additional notification option for anyone with Business Process Manager role and above to notify if a workflow has failed.

I have developed a habit of checking in on the workflows throughout the day to see if anything has failed and it dawned on me that it would be far more efficient if the bell icon notified me and linked me to the workflow/request.

There's a chance it may help organisations identify problematic workflows far more quickly so I think this could have a wider benefit in the long run.

Just a thought.

+1, this would be helpful. Though would need to let those people control whether they get those notifications, I can see some in my organisation getting irritated by it.

I think this would be useful too +1

I know I can run a report or check the cancelled/failed tickets but to be alerted as soon as an error happens would be handy.

@AlexOnTheHill A report on h_bpm_instance where h_current_state = 2 would achieve this.

@Steve Giller I understand I can get this information through reporting, that would rely on me either manually running the report or checking emails sent based on whichever schedule I set the report to run on.

I don't think either circumstance would be quicker than looking at the failed workflows directly.

Having a bell icon notification when a workflow has failed and limiting the availability of this notification to users with Business Process Manager roles or above should ensure the right people get rapid access to the notification.

I worry that if I set a report to notify admins of failed workflows that it would add a delay in identifying those failures. If, for example, I schedule an 8am report then 9am failures wouldn't appear until the following day.

If this notification option could be given consideration I would greatly appreciate it.

A report for this is not a good idea (For the reasons Alex states) and as it will be a huge amount of data to process\report on if not crafted carefuly (and most likely timeout) , you can also already see this information in the Failed BPM section in the Admin area.   This is probably best as @AlexOnTheHillsuggests a feature request for a admin or group notification on a BPM failing

Please dont create the above report.

Kind Regards
