samwoo Posted September 19 Posted September 19 Good morning, Some people have pointed out not seeing the 3 dots at the top-right to be able to Copy Request. I've had a look in Hornbill to see if there was a role they are were missing, but I cannot work out what role would provide this functionality. I've carried out few forum searches with different key words "Copy Request" and "Role" etc. but not finding anything. We mostly use Custom Roles, and I cannot see anything in the Application Rights or System Rights as well that would grant this functionality. Please could someone advise. Thanks, Samuel
David Hall Posted September 19 Posted September 19 Hi @samwoo Without digging into it I believe the button should be shown based on the user having the 'canCreate' right for the relevant request type e.g. rights group A : createIncident will mean seeing the button on an Incident form etc. If that's not working then I can dig a bit deeper. Cheers, Dave
samwoo Posted September 19 Author Posted September 19 Thanks @David Hall, it turns out these particular users were in the Request List screen instead of within the Request itself - crisis averted lol! I appreciate your quick response though. Is it possible maybe in the future we could have a dedicated 'canCopy' right in the future maybe? 1
David Hall Posted September 19 Posted September 19 @samwoo The only issue I can see with a canCopy right is that if we have a single right you have no control over what request types the user is allowed to copy.. so you would then need to use it in conjunction with the other 'canRaise' rights which means just an additional overhead. Equally if you meant a canCopy right for each request type we are then adding 6 new rights to manage in addition to the others so an additional overhead here. There are possible options but not sure if it would really improve the situation a great deal. 1
samwoo Posted September 19 Author Posted September 19 Cheers @David Hall - I did wonder... what if users already have the "Create Incidents" and/or "Create Service Requests" rights for example (as they do now), and they have the single " "Copy Request" right added to a new or existing role, then that might be enough to give users the ability to Copy Requests of X Request Type (since if they have the already rights to create it/them. But thanks for the explanation, it makes a lot of sense the additional overhead doesn't seem worth it, as "Copy Request" is essentially "Creating a Request". 1
