I got over 2000 tickets that need to be closed and I tested the close request API and it closes the requests . the API close all requests, even those onhold ones and with open activities.. 

 

It looks promising, exactly what we want, though wondering, if I've not thought about something and might have create more issues down the line, .eg.

Setting the status to Closed will not affect the Workflow, if something happens to, for example, take the Request off hold, the workflow will progress and potentially send Customer emails etc.
