Someone has Deleted all the Deleted items in the associated Helpdesk exchange account (7000+)

I can now only see the emails since this deletion was completed. Also the email with the details section of an older call now brings up and error as it cannot find the associated email.  Does the email link refer to the email within the deleted items folder . If it does is this right  ?

Yes.

Once deleted from Deleted Items the emails are completely removed.
