We currently have a couple of ICs with multiple forms, which is great for presenting users with related questions rather than in a huge single form.

However, on the analyst side of things, all these answers are dumped unceremoniously into the Questions Panel, with a 10-question limit before pagination kicks in.

I'd like to suggest that instead of pagination per 10 questions, that the questions panel display the Form Prompt (from the IC) and all the answers to that form in a single "page", and show multiple pages (or tabs) for all other forms containing answers.

Given that some forms could contain a number of fields, instead of paging, using a scrollable div to present these to make it easier for analysts to reference the information.

My view is that the idea of pages with "next" and "previous" is a bit last-century when we all tried to get our websites into the same sized window. Scalable and scrollable is the way so I request Hornbill to do-away with these pages and arbitrary limits in favour of continually scrolling lists which dynamically load as the user scrolls; this plays to your point @Gareth Cantrell and the same would apply to have scrollable lists in the Request view for:

  • Assets
  • Connections
  • Linked Services
  • Linked Requests
  • Attachments

Although I don't have your scenario, I do have a bit of an issue with pagination generally. The number on any given page is usually too low and the UI is very inconsistent:

  • In Knowledge Management 17 articles can be displayed
  • In the service portfolio the maximum on any page is 12
  • In workflows it's 30
  • Users it's 50
  • Roles it's 25
  • Suppliers it's 20
  • Contracts it's 18
  • Contacts it's 20
  • Organisations it's 30
  • Email templates don't paginate; all are displayed
  • Simplelists; all are displayed
  • Asset lists; all are displayed
  • etc
