Peter Clough Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 I'm currently building a workflow where I'm looking to have a request assigned to a team, done during the capture, and then attach several people as members. At the moment, I have it set to pull whoever the team leader is and add them as a member (with a get team info node), but I also need it to add the team leader and manager of the service desk. I have this set manually to the specific users at present, however is there a way to use a variable to find out who this is, without having it assigned to the service desk at the time.
James Ainsworth Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Is the Service Desk configured as a team or a group? I would like to know where you have recorded the Service Desk manager and team leader.
Peter Clough Posted July 1, 2024 Author Posted July 1, 2024 It's configured as a Team. The Team Leader and Manager are configured in the organisational structure.
James Ainsworth Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Hi Peter, I hope I'm understanding this correctly... A request is assigned to a team and you are able to get the team manager and leader using the automation for getting the team information from the request request record. However, you also want to get the team manager and/or lead from another team that isn't assigned to the request. You are quite right in your goal to use variables where absolutely possible to reference users. I've not been able to find an automation that does this. I will see if this is something that can be added. 1
Peter Clough Posted December 24, 2024 Author Posted December 24, 2024 Hello @James Ainsworth Do you know if this ever got considered for adding? Hope you have a good Christmas!
James Ainsworth Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Hi Peter, I've had a look but I can't see anything that has been added. I'll double check with development. 1
