Gareth Cantrell Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 When using the advanced filter or creating a view in the Assets Lists, it would be helpful if we could filter on whether fields have no value, for example by using a "not set" filter operation. For example, I would like to filter on all assets where the Substate is "In Stock" and Floor and Room are not set.
Berto2002 Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 @Gareth Cantrell +1 and also to have the status of assets showing in the basic search so people don't select archived ones.
Steve Giller Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 I have a sneaking suspicion that the next step would be to export that list so that you can update the assets with the missing data - if so I'd ask whether a report would be more appropriate for this, as the Views are not designed as Reporting tools.
Gareth Cantrell Posted June 17, 2024 Author Posted June 17, 2024 @Steve Giller In the scenario I'm envisaging, using a report, I'd first have to run the report, then download (and possibly print it), then using the copy of the report go back to the assets list and filter on each item I want to inspect, click into the details and make adjustments. This feels like a far more complicated workflow to having a saved filter that only lists the items I care about, nice and succinctly.
Steve Giller Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Ah - if you're actioning individual assets through the UI, that makes sense. Where it falls down is when Users build the View then export the list etc.
Gareth Cantrell Posted June 17, 2024 Author Posted June 17, 2024 We will have both reports and dashboards, both of which users are familiar with - what we're missing is the ability to make certain day-to-day interactions with the data easier.
