CraigP Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 I've recently noticed that the "Service Request Full Access" role gives more rights than I would like for some users, so I am creating custom roles that will provide only a few extra permissions that the "Service Request User" doesn't have. I've been trying to work out precisely what application/system right causes the "Configure Notices" bell icon to be available on Service Requests (by adding/removing the various rights that differ between "SR User" and "SR Full Access" on my custom role), but haven't been able to find it so far. Is someone please able to confirm what right is required for this?
James Ainsworth Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Hi @CraigP Thanks for your post. As far as I can see, a request owner can add and remove notices on requests that they own without having the Full Access role. No rights required. I don't believe that there is a right that is specific to request notices. The option is just doing a check if you are either the owner or you have the Full Access role for that request type. The notices were originally designed as part of the workflow and then additional options were added so that the owner could also manually manage the notices.
Jim Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Hi, Slightly similar thread, but rather Our analysts used to be able to add notices, they can still see the button, it lets them fill in the notice form. then states the following error, which doesn't really help identify where the right is
James Ainsworth Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Hi @Jim Thanks for your post. It might need some more information to investigate. In order to replicate I might need to understand the rights of the users that experience this. I also noticed that you have Premier Support. As this is an error, it might be worth raising this directly with Hornbill Support.
Steve Giller Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Can you share what Role(s) an affected User has, please? The only requirement for createRequestNotice is User status so the error itself doesn't stack up at first glance.
Jim Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Hi @James Ainsworth, @Steve Giller I have custom roles here also, 2 are purely just for differentiation of user type as they are in multiple teams so they have no additional rights. The main role provided is the ICTSupportOfficer right as it contains all of the generic permissions analysts need which is shown below
Steve Giller Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Notices can be managed on a request if ANY of the following conditions apply: The session user is the Request owner The session user has the "Full Access" role for the relevant request type, e.g. Problem Management Full Access The session user is a Service Desk Admin The session user has any Role that includes the app right rightE.updateRequestServiceLevel:com.hornbill.servicemanager
