Mark Priest Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Hi We have recently just started getting this error when running ldap imports "[ERROR] Connecting Error: LDAP Result Code 211 "ErrorClosing": Response Channel Closed" apparently our sys admin has forced secure authentication so this does seem to be linked. Has anyone got any ideas how to resolve the issue. I did see a post from 2019 and tried the fixes on there but still get the same error and therefor no sync is taking place from our AD
Steve Giller Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Have you upgraded to the latest version of the LDAP Import Tool? This would always be the first step in any troubleshooting. If not please do so, and note that there are changes in the way the Tool operates and this will require some adjustments to your configuration.
Mark Priest Posted August 2, 2023 Author Posted August 2, 2023 Hi I have tried that but still get the same error
Steve Giller Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 The wiki page does have a Common Error Messages section and offers: [ERROR] Search Error: LDAP Result Code 211 "ErrorClosing": Response Channel Closed - this usually indicates the port (specified in the Key Safe) and Connection Type (specified in the import configuration) are mismatched. E.g. If using TLS, this would typically be port 389. SSL would typically be associated with port 636. 1
Mark Priest Posted August 2, 2023 Author Posted August 2, 2023 Hi yes tried that too. All we get when we change to ssl is [ERROR] Connecting Error: LDAP Result Code 201 "ErrorNetwork": Invalid packet fo rmat
Steve Giller Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 The only reference to this error I can find online is an exact match - LDAP Result Code 201 "ErrorNetwork": Invalid packet format and the cause was also established as trying to connect via the wrong port.
Mark Priest Posted August 3, 2023 Author Posted August 3, 2023 Hi have double checked the ports etc. feel like im going round in circles now. is there anything else we can check ?
