Sorting Simple Lists

Hi,

Following this release:

I was expecting to be able to sort simple lists by either their value or default display and this reflect wherever this list is used, e.g. for our Connections list. This doesn't appear to be working (unless I have misunderstood the change here) and it still seems to be sorting by alphabetical order using the translated display

Is this right?

Hi @will.good

Having done some further testing, the release notes are only referring to the ability to order the list within that particular view.   Some of the other areas where simple lists are used do have a way to sort the lists.  For example, if you added a field to a request that uses a simple list it has these options.

The provided Connections form in Intelligent Capture doesn't use a simple list.  This form would need to have a new option added to configure the order.

When creating a custom form within Intelligent Capture, there is an option to use simple list, but this too has its own sorting option.

The Connections action item on a request also just uses a query to return a list of users and doesn't use simple lists.

Hi @James Ainsworth,

Thanks for coming back to me.

Can we please raise as an enhancement to be able to have a sort option added to the simple lists page, that would reflect where the list is being used (on the connections IC form, and on the connections action item (where you select the type of connection) or alternatively, it just reflects the order that these are entered on the simple list

+1

We have simple lists where we don't want alphabetical ordering, so we end up re-creating these in the IC and task forms so we can specify the order - this means keeping track of where all these are configured in the event we need to add an option.

Having the ability to specify the default ordering in a simpleList would help immensely.
