Query on My Activities side-bar; activities appearing in 'new' list even if don't have a due date

The Wiki page (My Activities Side Bar - Hornbill) states under 'filtered' that activities will be listed under "Someday - [if] No due date has been set".

My BPM created an Activity with a blank Due Date and yet it still appeared under the New for "New for: Change Request Assignee" list:

I had expected it to appear under the Someday filter.

There are lots of tasks I do not want people to necessarily use the My Activities to detect and get done because they have a 1-2-1 relationship with a Request assignment, and they will be using the Request list filters to obtain their work so I do not want the task numbers escalating in this My Activities section.

Am I missing something here?

The sections that start with New are just notification areas.  Once they look at the new task, the notification is then removed from that list.  It's a bit like the bell icon at the top.  It just makes them aware that something was assigned to them.
