Ann
Afternoon All Hope you are all well. Please would it be possible to advise if it is possible for archived assets to be hidden from view, so that they do not inadvertently get linked to jobs? Thank you. Kind Regards Ann
James Ainsworth
Hi Ann, When you say "Archived" are you referring to a status of an asset?
Ann
Afternoon @James Ainsworth Hope you are well. Yes please, the status of an asset. Thank you. Kind Regards Ann
James Ainsworth
Hi Ann, I don't believe that "Archived" is s default status and this may have been added to your instance. I don't believe that there is a built-in concept of archived assets that would allow for filtering. Is there anything preventing you from deleting assets that no longer exist? Ann
Hi @James Ainsworth We do not wish to delete ‘archived’ assets as they may be historical information required at a later date. Below is an example of the State field as ‘Archived’ and also the Operational State as ‘retired’, if that might help with further investigation: Kind Regards Ann
James Ainsworth
If there becomes an opportunity to add some functionality here, it will be with the Operational State "Retired". I'll make sure that this requirement is captured so it can be considered in the future.

Jeremy
When we mark an asset with a 'State' of Archived and/or an 'Operational State' of Retired then we would assume that these would not be able to be selected when adding assets to a change. Is there a setting that we can turn on to not show Archived or Retired Assets? As we don't think that you should be able to select them but we still need them in the system for reference and looking up requests etc.
Steve Giller
@Jeremy I've moved your post to the existing thread.
