Can connections be emailed if attachments are added to a request?

Is it possible for connections on a request to be emailed or notified in some way if a request that they're connected to gets updated?

There is an option to automatically notify the main customer of the request when there is an update, but this does not apply to the users linked to a request as a connection.  There is a BPM Automation to email connections at set points within the workflow and there is an option to manually email connections from within the Email Action, but nothing automated for updates.
