Hi
I have had a request for someone to have entity viewer as they do the reports and need the schema information.

We don't want to give super user rights for this.
I have set up a bespoke role and added some permission that I think it needs but it still says it needs a superuser role to view the entity viewer.
Have I missed some permissions or is what I'm trying to do not possible?

Thanks

Hi @Smurfy

Thanks for your post.  In theory you should be able to assign the provided roles Reporting User or Reporting Admin to the user.  However, I get the same message as you.  I'll ask about the need for the Entity Viewer to have a superuser role.

Hi @Smurfy

It looks like there will be an adjustment to remove the need for the superuser role for this view.  The recommended approach will be to give the user either the Report User or Report Admin role in place of creating your own.  This change should be expected in an upcoming update.

Thanks James - that will be great.

To clarify on the adjustments advised by @James Ainsworth above, the requirements to access the "Entity Explorer" section in admin tool are the "Advanced Reporting Admin" role along with a secondary role that have the "Execute Stored Queries" and "Update Record" system rights:

The latter can be either a default role which has these rights or it can be a custom role designed for this purpose. Unfortunately neither "Report User" nor "Report Admin" have the necessary rights to access this functionality.

Thanks Victor that is perfect. I have created and applied the permission and it works.
