Guest Paul Alexander
Trying to add a capacity for a project resource, but we're getting the error 'Failed to add the new capacity. Please contact your Hornbill Administrator' This happens regardless of WHO I'm trying to add. Any ideas please?
AlexTumber
@Paul Alexander thanks for your post and sorry to hear this. Can you check the system autovals to see if the following autoval exists: Alex
Guest Paul Alexander
Hi @AlexTumber No, those autovals AREN'T available in our instance: Thanks
AlexTumber
@Paul Alexander ok can you manually add a new one. Name: projectmanager_capacityAutoId Description: {seq(0)} You should then be able to create a new capacity record in the User App. Alex
Guest Paul Alexander
@AlexTumber Ok done that, and I can now add a resource/capacity. thanks
Guest Paul Alexander
Sorry @AlexTumber We can't add a Team as a resource (same error message): Also, when trying to add a Team we don't get any Capacity options. thanks
AlexTumber
@Paul Alexander The team options are calculated automatically based on the capacity records defined for the individual members of that team. I'm not sure why it's not creating the record though, we'd need to get onto your instance to see what's going on. Perhaps you can go through our support team so that we can get a passcode etc. Alex

Nikolaj
Hello @AlexTumber @Paul Alexander We have the same problem. Trying to add a capacity for a project resource, but we're getting the error 'Failed to add the new capacity. Please contact your Hornbill Administrator' best regards Nikolaj
Guest Paul Alexander
HI @Nikolaj We were informed that this is a product defect (KE00167997) which will be fixed in a future Platform Update. There is currently no workaround available (as of Thurs 24/06)
AlexTumber
@Nikolaj unfortunately there are currently 2 issues with creating these records. The first is that the auto value is not created automatically on application update. This issue can be manually worked around by going into the admin tool and creating the auto value for capacities yourself. The second is that the database column that holds the unique user id/team id reference is only 50 characters long. This is enough for user ids but not for some team ids. This will be fixed in the next Project Manager update. Alex
