Can't add user to group in BPM

I'm trying to add a user to a group using the BPM node 'Add User to Organisation', but it doesn't work and, when I use that node in the BPM I get this error: 

 

This doesn't stop me from saving and publishing the BPM, but when I run it the user is NOT added to the group, but the BPM doesn't show any errors.

 

Any ideas please?

To close this post off, we discovered in the related Incident that the issue was caused by using the Service Manager application in the Node configuration when the action takes place as part of the Collaboration application.
