Martyn Houghton Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 @Steven Boardman Is it possible to give external users, i.e. external contacts, access to Hornbill Board Manager boards? I am thinking this is not currently possible, but if not is there any intention to do this? Cheers Martyn
James Ainsworth Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 Hi Martyn, Board Manager requires at least a collaboration subscription to access. There are no plans at the moment to make this available to non subscribed users. Regards, James
Martyn Houghton Posted April 13, 2021 Author Posted April 13, 2021 @James Ainsworth Thanks for the clarification. We will look at other solutions to present boards with our external customers. Cheers Martyn
samwoo Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 +1 if this could be raised as a potential enhancement be done similarly to how public boards work in Trello (minus the commenting on the cards)
Gerry Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 The original design of the boards application did not include this as a consideration so its note likely the data model would even support this. I presume you are talking about providing access to guests who are logged in for security reasons? When you say "like Trello boards" is this a read-only view, or are you talking about more access than that? Gerry

Gerry Hi Gerry, I was thinking more along the lines of a read only view that only users with access to Hornbill could see. This would allow the set up of boards used as road maps for upgrades for a particular service for example for visibility purposes or upcoming it projects or downtime that impacts all or parts of the business. An extension of this if the idea is considered and implemented is that it could also be used as widgets on the employee portal and if allowed, users can click on a card to see more details. Similar to the road map the Hornbill customer success portal. The ideas are based on what I've seen trello boards used for for various things. Thanks
Martyn Houghton Posted April 19, 2021 Author Posted April 19, 2021 +1 for read only view for logged in guest (external users) is what we were looking to use it for. @samwoo like your idea of having it as a widget for internal use on the Employee Portal. Doing the same for the Customer Portal would also fit our requirement as well. 1
