Timeline Editing

Would it be possible to allow deletion of emails from the timeline of a request, currently we can archive these but we would like the option to remove these emails from the timeline for GDPR reasons incase emails have been assigned to the wrong request.

Is this possible to be linked to a role e.g. Service Desk Admin

@Jeremy there is functionality to allow editing the timeline for this purpose. This is managed via guest.servicemanager.request.timeline.availablePostTypes.editPost application setting. By default the user who made the timeline update is able to edit it as long as the post in the timeline does not have any comments or likes. An admin user (iirc a user having Super User role) can do the editing regardless of who made the update and regardless if the post has likes or comments.

@Victor that is fine for editing but you cannot delete anything so for instance if an email has been added to the wrong request there is no way of removing or deleting from that request. The only thing that you can do is to 'archive the post' but it still allows analysts to see this, we want to be able to delete or remove items in the timeline but only based on a role.

@Jeremy you can delete (edit) the content of the timeline entry which is the email content in the timeline. For example, I have this entry from an email:

image.png

I can then use the Edit option to change it into:

image.png

Would this not achieve the same thing? Apologies if I am missing something...

@Martyn Houghton for the time being, it isn't possible to remove an image from a post.
