New Update: Project Manager (348)

The latest build of Project Manager (348) has been released to live.

Change Log for this release are as follows:

• Project Risks now support timespent
• Project Tasks now use Hornbill Timesheet Manager exclusively for time spent

• Project Tasks can now be associated with Project Risks

• Project Manager name lists ordering by user id instead of user name
• Boards tab not showing correctly in project portfolio
• Mandatory Project Status/Sub Status on Progressive Capture not being respected
• Issue with projects in a programme that had no progress set

Hi Everyone,

This latest project manager update has been a long time coming but we are excited to introduce several new features. I thought it would be good to highlight a few of them in particular. Project Tasks:

- These have been completely redone and now include a new 'In Planning' status. When creating a project task, you now only need to specify a task name - the rest of the details can be added at a later date. This should help you with being able to scope out and plan your tasks before the need to assign them to individual project stakeholders:

Project Summary Tasks:

- We have introduced a new concept which allows you to group your tasks into phases of work. We are hoping this will help you to better organise your projects and to be able to visualise the phases of work more easily on gantt charts:

Project Task Relationships:

- Project tasks now contain additional fields such as 'external reference'. It is also now possible to associate project tasks to a project risk

Project Time Recording:

- It is now possible to record time against project tasks and project risks, as well as the main project. All of this information will be viewable in timesheet manager. Each user can choose and change their preferences for how they want the data to appear in the various charts. The project manager also has a new view available to them where they can see all the time recorded against the project as a whole:

Project Risk History

- We've added a new view for project risks which allows you to see the progress of your risks over project's lifecycle. If the setting is enabled, the system will take a daily snapshot of all of your project risks, allowing you to visualise their progress over time in a graph
