AndyGilly Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 please could you consider adding a ITOM job for capturing the 'managed by' attribute of the on prem AD group many thanks Andy
Ricky Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 @AndyGillyI have passed the request through to the Dev team who will add this to the list and will provide an update when I get some further details. Regards, Ricky
AndyGilly Posted February 25, 2021 Author Posted February 25, 2021 Hi @Ricky did this item get accepted onto the list?? thanks Andy
Steve G Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 Hi @AndyGilly, Yes, I've added this to the list. Will let you know when it hits the top Cheers, Steve 1
AndyGilly Posted March 16, 2021 Author Posted March 16, 2021 Morning @Steve G The Get Group function you sorted for us is perfect and has made a lot of automations possible Do you think you could add a Get User option to the enhancement list please? thanks Andy
Steve G Posted March 16, 2021 Posted March 16, 2021 Morning @AndyGilly, Great stuff There actually already is a Get operation in the AD User Management package, I just appear to have forgotten to document it on the Wiki... I'll correct that this morning! Cheers, Steve
Steve G Posted March 16, 2021 Posted March 16, 2021 @AndyGilly The operation is now documented, here: https://wiki.hornbill.com/index.php?title=Active_Directory_User_Management Cheers, Steve 1

AndyGilly Posted April 12, 2021 Author Posted April 12, 2021 Morning @Stephen.whittle primarily, this has allowed us to automate all of our approval process for any request that uses an AD Group We can now get the 'managed by' attribute from any on-prem AD group/ dist list etc and set it as the approver in the workflow thanks Andy 1
Stephen.whittle Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 That is what I suspected @AndyGilly but unfortunately for me there are gaps in our "managed by" attribute across our 3 domains. Thanks for coming back to me though.
AndyGilly Posted April 12, 2021 Author Posted April 12, 2021 Hi @Stephen.whittle we are in a similar boat, we have had to build in quite a few error handling paths in the workflow to get the ticket reassigned to the Service Desk if the automation fails Managed By - not present, Managed By - disabled etc We have agreed internally that the Service Desk will fix the underlying data as tickets get raised for those AD Groups/ Dist lists and the data will improve over time. thanks Andy 1
Stephen.whittle Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 Thanks Andy thats very helpful and a sensible approach.
